MOVING TARGETS. Pick a time, five or ten years ago, when you set a financial or other ambitious goal for your future empire. What was it? Have you now reached or surpassed your goal? Which of the nonfinancial benefits that you had hoped for back then (such as more time to relax and enjoy your family, more peace of mind, or the ability to be more generous with your resources, financial and otherwise) have you actually received as a result of surpassing your old goal, presuming you have? Which of the benefits you promised yourself have you not yet received? What is your goal today? How confident are you that you will receive the nonfinancial benefits you’re promising yourself today when you reach your new goal?
